
Dangers of Rabies
Rabies is a zoonotic disease that is transmitted from animals to humans. The infection is transmitted by animals infected with rabies. The main animals that cause rabies are dogs, bats, cats and monkeys. Rabies is caused by a virus and attacks the central nervous system and can cause death.
SYMPTOMS
› Fever
› Nausea and vomiting
› Hallucinations
› Tingling or burning sensation in the bite area
› Feeling anxious or threatened for no reason
› Difficulty swallowing when eating and drinking
› Excessive saliva production
› Weakened muscle fever
› Hyperactivity
› Headache
› Insomnia or sleep disorders
MEASURES AND PREVENTION OF RABIES VIRUS INFECTION
1. Vaccinate pets against rabies.
2. Get a rabies vaccine for yourself if you are bitten by an animal.
3. Keep pets away from and interacting with wild animals that have the potential to have the rabies virus.
